The housings for the DSG and axle gearboxes are made of lightweight aluminium. A Haldex coupling, an actively-controlled multi-disk, inter-axle lock directly coupled to the front axle gearbox, distributes the drive power to the front and rear axles.

The power is split between the two front wheels by the front axle differential that comes next.
